THE TEAM

Iris Lee

EDITOR-IN-CHIEF

Hi! My name is Iris, and I am a rising junior at IBSH. I am from Sunnyvale, California. I love my dog Champ, food, and sleep, and I enjoy baking, cooking, and rock-climbing in my free time. I am easily coerced into playing excessive League of Legends games. I’ve only ever attended MUN conferences as press, so outside of being a reporter and editor, I’m a complete noob/derp. I have self-diagnosed myself with a severe case of wanderlust.

I am fortunate enough to have been appointed as your editor-in-chief for the tenth HSINMUN conference. I will be collaborating with Lucy this year to hopefully produce the best HSINMUN conference issues as possible. I look forward to serving all attendees this coming October!

CO-EDITOR-IN-CHIEF

Lucy Kuo

Hi! My name is Lucy Kuo and I'm currently a junior at IBSH. I joined MUN press 3 years ago and have been involved in various MUN conferences ever since. Aside from MUN, I'm also involved in Yearbook, student council, InterAct, and IBSH dance club. Although school activities take up most of my time, I like to bake, watch sitcoms (Breaking Bad!!!), and play with my dog in my spare time. One item on my bucket list I want to check off as soon as possible is to travel to all of the continents in the world because I've only been to two so far. One reason I like MUN is MUN lets me simulate the experience of interacting with people on a global scale.

REPORTERS

Amanda Chen

HI! My name is Amanda Chen and I am currently an eighth grader at IBSH. I moved here from Fremont, California two years ago. During my spare time, I enjoy writing, singing, swimming, and playing the guitar. In addition, I love to travel and experience various cultures from different countries. So far I have been to four countries in Asia and I wish to explore more of Europe in the future. I also like to learn issues concerning the environment and hope to reach my ambition of becoming an environmental lawyer. This year would mark my first year in HSINMUN and I am more than excited to work as a press member. I am looking forward to writing reports on current issues from different perspectives.

Amber Liang

Hi! My name is Amber Liang, and I’m currently a junior at IBSH. I’m a huge fangirl (currently obsessed with 5SOS, and if you like them we will be the best of friends) and tumblr addict. I definitely quote Mean Girls too often, but who doesn’t love some Tina Fey humor? If procrastination were an actual profession, I’d be an expert at it (24 hours a day just isn’t enough when you need to Tumblr, go on Spotify, eat, sleep, and eat some more). I’m quite a bit of a doofus (cue “Doofenshmirtz evil incorporated!” a la Phineas and Ferb), but have just the tiniest bit of seriousness left in me to allow myself to take part in HSINMUN. I was a delegate in HSINMUN VIII and HSINMUN IX, but decided to try out being a reporter in press at HSINMUN X this year! Hopefully my Mean Girls references in my articles don’t drive you insane.

Cindy Kim

Hi! My name is Cindy and I am currently a sophomore at IBSH. This is my first time participating in MUN as a Press reporter, but I'm willing put all my efforts into my job and do my best.

I'm a huge tv shows/movies geek, and I spend most of my free time rewatching old Marvel movies (Scarlet Johansson, anyone?) or watching new episodes of The Good Wife and Orange is the New Black. Aside from films, I love really bad jokes and puns, but no one in my class seems to appreciate them as much as I do.

Irene Li

Jennifer Ai

Formal name is Jennifer Ai and I would most likely become your worst nightmare ever if you decide to befriend me. Tendency to use the word "awesome" too much, obsessive gaming to the point where people decided to combine the words dork and geek together to describe me, hence the creation of the word "gork", and I'm a little bit too derp to understand people's thoughts and feelings, or really just about everything. I should also mention that there's a possibility I may appear socially awkward at times, or just flat out weird, so please don't have high Asian expectations from me.

Jonathan Lai

Hello. My name is Jonathan Lai and I am currently a junior at IBSH. My involvement in MUN press this year involved some truly desperate editors who could not find anyone sane to sign up. I am a huge fan of the TV shows My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic and the 2005 revival of Doctor Who, and am an obsessive reader at the worst of times. In my spare time, I read and play chess and soccer. I’ve perfected my clueless idiot persona, as in I’ve had a lot of practice, and practice makes perfect. I joined MUN to try my hand at writing, and look forward to a whole new experience this coming October. As soon as I figure out exactly what on earth is going on. Hopefully there’ll be cookies. And unicorn magic. And maybe a side of time travel.

Lynn Huang

Hello! My name is Lynn and I am a sophomore at IBSH. I am from Kaohsiung, Taiwan, but i grew up in various places. I have a huge love for animals, especially dogs. However, I might just love food a little more. I have a weird love-hate relationship with mornings and I am probably overly obsessed with bands and all sorts of music. I joined MUN in eighth grade, so this will be my third year being involved in MUN. Through my little time to experience what MUN is like, it really blew my mind how so many different people can unite and collaborate through it. The friendliness and jollyness of everyone in MUN is what i love most about it. Aside from MUN, some of my hobbies are watching crazy youtube videos, shopping, and pretending I can drum to sick beats.

PHOTOGRAPHERS

Peggy Chen

Hi! This is Peggy Chen, one of the photographers of HSINMUN press team. I'm currently a junior studying at Taipei Wego Private bilingual high school. I am seventeen years old, and am an outgoing and active girl. I enjoy traveling, singing and playing basketball in my spare time. I am also the instructor of Wego MUN club. I think joining MUN makes me think differently, care more about others, and think more for the society. I also like to try out new different things! For this reason, when I graduated from 9th grade, I went to Florida for a Foreign Exchange Student Program for a school year. This is my first time to be in press team and I am looking forward to see you all soon!

Andrew Hsia

Andrew Lee

Hello, my name is Andrew Lee and I am a aspiring video editor and have composed numerous video projects for school. I am currently a senior at IBST and this will be my second and last year attending HSINMUN. At school, I am known as "The Tech Guy" because I am a computer nut. As a senior, applications are taking up most of my time, but I still play lots of video games, mainly Dota 2, League of Legends, and Skyrim. I am going to HSINMUN as press because I want to improve my photography skills, but also I would like to compile a post-event video for you guys.

Wells that's me, looking forward to working with you all.

Tim Wang

Hi ya'll. I am Tim Wang, a junior and photographer, from IBSH. This is my third MUN conference. Aside from MUN, I am also involved in Yearbook, Unicef, Vista, and school photography club. I love photography. Photography is my life. I hate math and science related subjects. Last time I was mistakenly drafted into being a reporter ( painful job). I like to watch movies during my spare time. I watch all sorts of movies. I am looking forward to meeting you all!

My name is Andrew Hsia and I am a junior at IBSH. This is my first year joining MUN as a photographer, so this will be a totally new experience for me.I have been taking pictures for quite some time and I am also part of IBSH's photography club and Yearbook. With my past experience, taking pictures for MUN shouldn't be too much of a problem, I hope. Attending a MUN conference seems pretty interesting and I hope that through this process, I will get to meet new people and understand more about the basis of the conference. Even though I am completely new to the event, let's hope that I don't fail too badly.

LAYOUT DESIGNERS

Chloe Wang

Hi! My name is Chloe Wang and I'm currently a freshman at IBSH. I am from California and this is my ninth year studying at IBSH. I have never attended any MUN conference before and this is also my first time serving as MUN press. This year, I will be serving as a layout designer in the team. Aside from this, I'd also worked as layout editor of our school yearbook club for the past two years as well. Apart from school activities, I enjoy reading, watching television series, and just simply hanging out with my friends. I will be trying my best to produce the best product and is looking forward to HSINMUN X this year!

Cindy Chen

Hi! My name is Cindy Chen and I am currently a senior at Wego Senior High School. I am from Los Angeles, California. I am an optimistic and easy-going person, and I like to interact with other people. In my spare time, I like to watch YouTube vlogs, watch movies and read. My currently favorite book is The Fault in Our Stars, and its author John Green is one of my favorite YouTubers. I am recently obsessed with marathon running, and I just finished my first half-marathon running last year. I’ve only attended MUN once as a delegate at Yale MUN, and I am really fortunate to join HSINMUN press team this time.

Frances Lee

Hi! My name is Frances, a Junior at IBSH. I'm from San Jose, California. I have been to three consecutive years of HSINMUN, and I enjoy being on the press team. Other than MUN, I also enjoy playing piano, violin, and baking. One reason why I enjoy MUN is because I like to make new friends and talk to new people; it is always fun to get to know more people. Hopefully this year, the MUN conferences will all be extremely fun for the press team to write about! Gluck to all chairs, delegates, admins, and the press team!

Tiffany Chu

Hello! My name is Tiffany Chu, and I am currently a junior at IBSH. I have been involved in HSINMUN for four years as admin, press, and delegate. I like to exercise, chat, and sleep during my spare time on school days, and occasionally cook some food. Aside from MUN, I am also involved in Cheerleading, Key, and the student council this year. I get hyper easily, especially when it comes to playing sports and talking about interesting subjects. I am a sun addict, and I have the urge to be outside when it is sunny (winter drives me crazy!!). I have a twin brother, and we like to joke and argue over weird things. It was definitely an interesting experience to take different positions (admin, press, and delegate) for HSINMUN, and I look forward to another amazing year as press!

Hey, my name is Irene. I’m a sophomore at IBSH. I’m from Taipei, Taiwan. I’m a really down to Earth person because you know... gravity. I love sarcasm, puns, and jokes, even if they are bad. I enjoy watching films of all kinds ranging from sitcoms of the 90s to the kids tv shows that are still on tv, or as smart people say, television. I like making new friends but it often turns into an one sided conversation. I say weird and random things all the time. And I like unicorns.

This is the first time I’ve done anything for MUN. I personally think I’m good at debating, as long as I can state my rebuttal 3 hours later in the shower. I don’t know how I landed the job, it was kind of all a blur, but I certainly am glad that I got this opportunity. I am a very clueless person so I have no idea what is going to happen. Even though everything confuse me, I’m excited for HSINMUN this year and I hope I can contribute.
